A friend of mine told me about this great web site.  It’s at freerice.com.  This site has words that come up and there are 4 choices for what that word means.  Every time you get it right, that’s 10 grains of rice that goes to feed the hungry.  There’s also categories in Art, Geography, English, Chemistry, Language learning, and Math.  Not only do you learn something new or see how smart you are but you are helping to feed the hungry by playing a learning game online.  What a wonderful idea.  I use it as a break from something I have gotten bored with and I have donated over 10,000 grains of rice so far.  Check it out because this is one game that is more than just playing.

Hey someone was just telling me about WorldVision.org.  Have any of you out there heard of them?  Do you know if they are as good as they sound?  I’m so tired of all of these organizations that claim to help and end up helping themselves to your donations more than helping the ones they’re supposed to be helping.

Before I make any type of donation to them, I plan on checking them out thoroughly.  So if any of you know anything positive or negative about them, please leave me a comment and let me know.  I’ll also make sure to let you know if I find out anything too.  Got a deal?  I hope so.

A few weeks ago my brother opened an auto body repair shop.  Well now he’s looking into putting in some state of the art spray booths.  He’s one of the best painters around and you can’t do good work without a good paint booth. I ran across an article about the top earning entertainers that are no longer with us.  To no surprise to me at all, Elvis Presley earned $52 million this year.  I guess I should say his daughter earned that much on him.  Priscilla turned out the be quite a shrewd business woman herself.  The article read:

Despite being dead for 31 years, Elvis Presley continues to draw a rising income, from $49 million last year to $52 million this year. Attendance and merchandise sales are soaring at Graceland. New licensing ventures, including Thomas Kinkaid art, slot machines and Martin guitars, are expanding the brand, and the new Elvis satellite radio show is adding to the already extensive royalties. The King is dead; long live the King.
