If I have to be awake at the crack of dawn, the least the roosters can do is make my coffee for me. I don’t like to wake up before the sun comes up but sometimes you have to do that. Today I have a full schedule – again – and needed an extra hour to get dressed and out of the house to beat the rush hour traffic and get into the office before anyone else. Whew!
This year I think I messed up on the taxes that I signed up for my employer to hold back or there is something wrong in his payroll office. I don’t think he held back enough, so I might end up paying in money to Uncle Sam for the first time in my life. That has me really freaked out.
Everyone else I work with is saying that they had to pay in extra money, too. I wonder if that is just a coincidence or if they are all lying and trying to get sympathy?
Looks like I will have to sit down this weekend and not only figure out how much I owe but also how I am going to come up with the extra money. Ugh. Not looking forward to this at all.
Sometimes you just have to eat alone in a restaurant and it’s a little weird to have to sit at a table all by yourself. I was supposed to meet Jenny for lunch at Logan’s Steakhouse and she called to say she was stuck at the office. So I told her to just come as soon as she could and went ahead and got a table .
But after 20 minutes of sipping on a coke and eating peanuts, she still wasn’t there. I called and got her voicemail, so I figured she was still stuck at the office and couldn’t even take calls. Starving, I went ahead and ordered my lunch and sat there by myself.
Poor Jenny never did get away from her boss and the big meeting. So I ordered her a lunch to go and dropped it off for her. The receptionist acted totally shocked and amazed that anyone would do something nice like that. I just thought it was the right thing to do. Jenny and I can have lunch together another time. Life happens, but we all have to eat.
Today I was hungry as soon as I got to work. I wonder what is going on with that? I usually don’t get hungry until someone cooks a frozen meal in the microwave and I can smell it. The smell is not always good, by the way. But most days I don’t think about food and today it has been on my mind all day.
So today I ate my lunch at 11:00. I still can’t believe it.
I’m not one of those people that hates Mondays but when they are rainy days and Monday, yeah I’m not all that thrilled about them. Nothing starts the week off worse than a dreary, rainy Monday. Now if it’s sun shining and it’s Monday, doesn’t phase me at all. It’s just the lack of sun and the rain on top of it that totally ruins my Monday!!!
